By creating an account, accessing, or using Northern Skills Academy ("NSA," "we," "us," or "our") — including our mobile application, website at nsacademy.ca, and any related services — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services. These Terms apply to all users, including free trial users, subscribers, Business plan administrators, and visitors to our website.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Northern Skills Academy provides online skills training programs for Canadian trades professionals through our mobile app and website. Our services include:
Important: NSA provides educational content to help you prepare for trades examinations and improve your professional skills. We do not administer government examinations, issue government licences, or guarantee any specific outcome on any examination. The GasPro Academy program prepares you for the TSSA G3 written exam — passing that exam is administered by TSSA, not NSA.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an NSA account. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 16 years old. Our professional programs are designed for adults working in or entering the trades industry.
Each NSA account is for one individual. You may not share your login credentials with others. If you need multiple seats for a team, please subscribe to our Business plan, which includes 12 individual seats.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse our services. We will notify you by email before termination unless the violation is severe.

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes where required by law.
If a payment fails, we will retry the charge and notify you by email. If payment is not resolved within 7 days, your account will be suspended until the outstanding balance is paid. Your progress and data will be preserved during suspension.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. We will notify you by email before any price change takes effect. You may cancel before the new price applies if you do not agree.
In-person sessions are available to NSA subscribers. Bookings are confirmed by NSA via email within 24 hours of your request. Payment is collected at the time of booking confirmation — not through the website booking form.
Each in-person session is $500 CAD per person. Sessions accommodate up to 12 participants. Group bookings of 4 or more people — contact us at hello@nsacademy.ca for availability.
The G3 Practical Test Prep session is designed for candidates who have already passed the TSSA G3 written examination. We strongly recommend completing the GasPro Academy program and passing the written exam before booking this session. NSA is not responsible for outcomes if a participant has not completed the recommended prerequisites.
You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time from your profile settings in the app, or by emailing hello@nsacademy.ca. Cancellation is effective at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not charge cancellation fees.
We offer refunds in the following circumstances:
No refunds are provided for partially used subscription periods, or if your account is terminated due to a violation of these Terms.
To request a refund, email hello@nsacademy.ca with your account email and reason. We process refund requests within 5 business days.
You agree to use NSA only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.
All content on NSA — including but not limited to lesson text, question banks, animations, graphics, logos, and the Northern Skills Academy brand — is owned by Northern Skills Academy or our content licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright law.
Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use NSA content for your own professional development. This licence does not permit you to copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content.
If you submit content to NSA (such as feedback, chat messages, or reviews), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content to improve our services. You retain ownership of anything you write.
We welcome feedback and suggestions. Any feedback you provide may be used by NSA without obligation to you. You waive any intellectual property rights in feedback submitted to us.
The Ask the Expert chat feature provides AI-generated responses based on the Anthropic Claude AI model, with the option to escalate to a licensed NSA technician. This service is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
Important safety notice: Do not rely solely on Ask the Expert responses when making decisions about live gas work, electrical systems, or any other activity that could affect safety. Always consult a licensed professional for work on live systems. NSA is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from actions taken based on chat responses.
AI responses are generated instantly. Human expert escalations are typically responded to within 24 hours on business days.
NSA content is created to help you learn and prepare for trades examinations. We make every effort to ensure accuracy, but we do not warrant that our content is error-free, complete, or current. Examination standards, codes, and regulations change — always verify current requirements with the relevant authority (TSSA, CSA, etc.).
Completing NSA programs does not guarantee that you will pass any government examination. Exam outcomes depend on many factors including your individual effort, experience, and aptitude. NSA does not offer refunds for failing a government examination.
We aim to keep NSA available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice, or experience unexpected outages. We are not liable for losses resulting from service unavailability.
NSA is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Northern Skills Academy, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
In all cases, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to NSA in the 3 months preceding the claim.
Some provinces do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of NSA shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
Before initiating any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at hello@nsacademy.ca to try to resolve the dispute informally. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a direct conversation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of NSA after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those Terms. If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
